About Kathryn E. Smith

Katy Smith is an associate at Herold & Sager.

Katy has substantial experience evaluating and litigating a variety of insurance coverage issues at both the state and federal level, including claims of equitable subrogation and indemnity, additional insured coverage, and priority of coverage. Katy is also well-versed in product recall claims and multidistrict litigation.

Katy graduated from the University of California, San Diego and subsequently earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. During law school, Katy was a published writer for the San Diego Law Review and externed for the Honorable Karen S. Crawford, Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court, Southern District of California as well as Associate Justice Richard D. Huffman of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One.

Outside of work, Katy enjoys long distance running, including running with the San Diego Track Club. She also enjoys strength training, HIIT, travel, cooking, and independent films.
